The Brooklyn Nets waived Chris Chiozza on Saturday.
Chiozza joined the Nets on a two-way deal in September, but he’ll have to look elsewhere for a chance at a roster spot. He wasn’t going to see much playing time if he was on the team, so this won’t have an impact on fantasy hoops.

  • NBA Point Guard #2
Chris Chiozza has signed an Exhibit 10 deal with the Nets.
Brooklyn has 12 standard contracts heading into training camp so there is some openings if anyone stands out. Even if Chiozza made the team, he wouldn’t be on the fantasy radar.

  • Small Forward #95
The Golden State Warriors will not extend qualifying offers to Juan Toscano-Anderson ($2.1 million) or Chris Chiozza ($1.9 million) before the deadline today, and they’ll both enter unrestricted free agency.
Both guys are free to sign elsewhere, and while they’d probably like to remain with the reigning champs, that’s not looking likely. They have a chance to play more minutes on another squad, but probably not enough to merit fantasy consideration.

  • WAS Shooting Guard #13
Jordan Poole is questionable for Saturday’s matchup with the Spurs due to right hand soreness.
It would be a blow for Golden State if Poole missed this one, as the Warriors are still fighting to maintain the No. 3 seed in the West. If he’s ruled out, expect Damion Lee and Chris Chiozza to soak up his minutes at point guard.

  • GSW Shooting Guard #0
Gary Payton II (back) is questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Timberwolves.
If Payton II suits up, he should see an increase in minutes with Stephen Curry (hand) being ruled out. If Payton can’t go, Jordan Poole and Chris Chiozza will see a boost in minutes.

  • GSW Point Guard #30
Stephen Curry (right hand) is ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Timberwolves.
Curry has struggled shooting the ball this month, likely resulting from his hand soreness. With him having to miss Sunday night’s game, Chris Chiozza and Gary Payton II (back) will see a bump in minutes, while Jordan Poole will be relied upon to do more offensively.

  • NBA Point Guard #2
Making his first start in a Warriors uniform, Chris Chiozza finished Saturday’s 119-100 loss to the Raptors with a line of three points (1-of-6 FGs), four rebounds, seven assists, one steal, and one 3-pointer in 26 minutes.
Golden State sent many of its veterans home ahead of the last game of the team’s road trip, which freed up four spots in the starting lineup. Chiozza occupied one and didn’t offer much outside of the rebounds and assists. Unless something wild happens between now and the Warriors’ home game against Sacramento Monday night, Chiozza is unlikely to log rotation minutes.

  • GSW Shooting Guard #0
Gary Payton II (hernia recovery) was a limited participant in Tuesday’s practice and is questionable for Wednesday against the 76ers.
Payton II missed Sunday’s game against the Raptors, if he doesn’t play expect Chris Chiozza to fill in for those minutes.

  • GSW Power Forward #23
Draymond Green grabbed 14 rebounds with four points, eight assists, and one block as the Warriors beat the Raptors 119-104 on Sunday night.
Green, along with Stephen Curry returned to the court Sunday following their rest day in Detroit on Friday. Green played the point-forward role as he normally does, and though Curry wasn’t the primary beneficiary as he normally is, Green still ended up with eight helpers on the evening. Curry struggles shooting, but it didn’t matter because Andrew Wiggins and Jordon Poole went off for 30-plus. Otto Porter scored 15 points off the bench on 5-of-9 shooting from three with six rebounds, and Chris Chiozza chipped in 11 with two triples off the bench as well.

  • NBA Point Guard #2
Chris Chiozza has agreed to a one-year, two-way deal with the Golden State Warriors according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Chiozza appeared in 22 games for the Nets this past season, averaging 4.0 points and 3.0 assists in 10.5 minutes per game. Though there will be an opportunity for Chiozza to get some minutes as a backup point guard in Golden State, he will likely have a similarly limited role, so no need to worry about him in fantasy land.
