Chris Carr has taken over as the Raiders’ punt return man.
Oakland had hoped rookie Johnnie Lee Higgins would fill the role, but he didn’t show much early in the season. Carr is also the team’s dime back.

Adam Caplan of Scout.com reports the Eagles have contacted the Raiders about return man and cornerback Chris Carr.
The Raiders have inserted Johnnie Lee Higgins on punts and Carr doesn’t see much action in the base or nickel defense. The Eagles recently brought back Reno Mahe, but Carr has a better track record of return production.

The Browns have made an informal offer to restricted free agent DB Chris Carr.
Scout.com reports that while the team hasn’t formally submitted an offer sheet, they have “talked numbers” with the versatile defensive back. The Browns would not have to give the Raiders draft pick compensation if they signed the free agent.

The Titans hosted restricted free agent DB Chris Carr on Wednesday.
He was joined by DEs Jevon Kearse and Josh Thomas, OG Jake Scott, and RB Julius Jones. Carr was extended a low tender by the Raiders last month.

The Bills are hosting restricted free agent DB Chris Carr on Thursday.
Carr has generated quite a bit of interest despite his “restricted” tag. He’s also been in talks or visited with Cleveland, Carolina, and Tennessee.

The offer sheet restricted free agent DB Chris Carr signed with the Titans is believed to be worth just under $2 million.
It sounds like a two-year deal. Carr was tendered at the lowest possible level by Oakland, and since he was undrafted, will require no compensation if the Raiders fail to match his offer. We suspect he’ll be a Titan shortly.

Titans signed restricted free agent CB/KR Chris Carr to an offer sheet.
The Raiders have seven days to match the contract. Though Carr saw his most extensive action at cornerback last season, the versatile defensive back could also return kicks with the Titans.

The Raiders extended low tenders to restricted free agent CB Chris Carr, LB Isaiah Ekejiuba, and DT Josh Shaw.
Carr can play safety, corner, and return kicks. Shaw hardly played in 2007. Ekejiuba is a solid special teamer. They can all make $927,000 in 2008.

The Panthers hosted restricted free agent DB Chris Carr on Monday.
Carr would provide depth in the secondary and an option on kickoff returns, but he hasn’t been signed to an offer sheet yet.
