Seahawks declared WR Charly Martin, S Winston Guy, CBs Danny Gorrer and Byron Maxwell, Gs John Moffitt and J.R. Sweezy, and DT Jaye Howard inactive for Thursday night’s game against the 49ers.
Maxwell is battling a hamstring issue, and Moffitt is out with a knee injury. Other than those two, the Seahawks are relatively healthy. Paul McQuistan will start at right guard with James Carpenter at left guard.
  • FA Wide Receiver #85
    Seahawks waived WR Charly Martin.
Martin has been bypassed by local star Jermaine Kearse, who made his first game appearance in Week 9. Martin had four catches for 42 yards in four games this season.
  • FA Wide Receiver #85
Seahawks promoted WR Charly Martin from the practice squad.
He’s taking the suspended Winston Guy’s roster spot. Martin has appeared in four games this season, making four catches for 42 yards. He should be limited to special teams on Sunday, however.
  • FA Wide Receiver #85
Seahawks WR Charly Martin sustained a bruised lung in Sunday’s loss to the Cardinals.
Martin had one catch for 15 yards on two targets before going down. The core special teamer was battling with Ben Obomanu for reps as the No. 4 wideout.
  • FA Wide Receiver #85
Seahawks WR Charly Martin (bruised lung) has been ruled out for Week 2.
Seattle’s No. 5 receiver is week-to-week. Martin is entirely off the fantasy radar.
  • FA Wide Receiver #85
Seahawks placed WR Charly Martin (calf) on injured reserve, ending his season.
The Seahawks’ backup slot receiver behind Doug Baldwin, Martin finishes the season with four catches for 42 yards. He’s under contract for $550,000 in 2013.
  • CAR Tackle #69
Panthers placed LT Jordan Gross on injured reserve with a broken right ankle, ending his season.
Practice squad WR Charly Martin was activated to take Gross’ place. The Panthers signed Gross to a $60M extension through 2014, so he’ll certainly be back at his $4.5 million salary for 2010. Line play was not the reason for Carolina’s slow start -- it was awful run defense and terrible decision making at quarterback. Gross suffered a clean ankle break and had surgery immediately, so the 29-year-old figures to be 100% well before ’10 camp.
  • PIT Wide Receiver
Panthers re-signed exclusive rights free agent WR Kenny Moore to a one-year, $470,000 contract.
The Panthers have a gaping hole at No. 2 receiver, but Moore is going to have to improve significantly to earn snaps, let alone make the team. He had chances to produce late last season, but was outplayed badly by Dwayne Jarrett. The Panthers also re-signed three other exclusive rights free agents: WR Charly Martin, DT Nick Hayden and LB Jordan Senn.
  • PIT Wide Receiver
The Panthers tendered exclusive rights free agent WRs Kenneth Moore and Charly Martin, LB Jordan Senn, and DT Nick Hayden.
All will be on the roster bubble this offseason. Moore was ahead of Dwayne Jarrett on Carolina’s depth chart for much of last season, but Jarrett was far more productive in the actual games. Senn is a special teams prospect.
  • FA Wide Receiver #85
    Seahawks waived WR Charly Martin.
Martin served as a backup slot receiver in 2012, finishing with just four catches for 42 yards. He’ll try to latch on as a special teamer elsewhere.
