They are both listed as fourth-stringers after playing significant roles last season. Adams is the player who put Jerry Rice into retirement when he won the No. 3 receiver role last year.

In 24 career games, Adams has totaled 21 receptions for 203 yards (9.7 avg.) with some time returning punts and kicks, as well. He’ll compete for a job as the No. 4 or 5 receiver in Dallas.

Adams is unlikely to make Denver’s roster.

This is a good sign that Adrian Madise has a chance at a roster spot when he comes off suspension this week.

He’ll mostly play special teams.

Adams beat out Darius Watts for the job during the preseason, but was told to keep quiet about it by coach Mike Shanahan. ''I was really excited about it, but I do what they told me to do,’' Adams said. He had two catches for 21 yards Sunday.

Adams hasn’t caught a pass since 2005.

Teams have to get their rosters to 75 this week.

He’s an exclusive-rights free agent this offseason. Adams emerged as Denver’s WR3 in ’05, catching 21 balls for 203 yards.

He’d add more mediocre talent to a decidedly weak Bills receiving corps. Adams was cut by Denver when Quincy Morgan signed in mid-September.
