They needed to shed some salary in order to make last night’s massive four-team trade work financially, but Parsons wasn’t going to play again this season anyway. His career is in jeopardy after a bad car crash, so it could be tough for him to find a new contract this summer.

Parsons is also dealing with symptoms of whiplash and a cervical disc injury and his NBA career is officially in jeopardy. It’s unlikely we’ll see him take the floor again this season, but we’re wishing him the best in his rehab.

Parsons suffered “multiple severe and permanent injuries including a traumatic brain injury, disc herniation and torn labrum.” He will work with a team of doctors going forward, but his “ability to return to play is unclear” at this time. We wish him all the best in his recovery.

Even before the concussion, he was largely a negligible part of the rotation.

This was expected, as Parsons entered the NBA’s concussion protocol after a car accident on Wednesday.

The Hawks were offering Damian Jones, Chandler Parsons and a first-round pick in exchange for Drummond, so it’s not all that surprising that a deal wasn’t able to get done. Atlanta remains intrigued by Drummond, but they’d rather pursue him as a free agent this summer. The Pistons are still actively fielding calls for Drummond, so it does seem likely he’ll be moved by the deadline, but his value should be fairly safe regardless of where he winds up.

Hopefully Parsons is OK after this incident. His absence doesn’t impact fantasy rosters.

No surprise here and maybe the Hawks try to buy out Parsons because they obviously won’t get anything in a trade.

Even with Evan Turner (hamstring) out, Parsons still couldn’t get minutes.

There’s a chance he does get minutes tonight with Evan Turner (hamstring) out, but obviously you’d have to be extremely desperate in fantasy to take that chance. Leave Parsons on the wire.
