Jaguars LT Eugene Monroe (ankle) expects to play in Week 17 against the Colts.
Monroe is listed as questionable after missing practice Friday because of a mid-week ankle injury. If he is unable to play, Cameron Bradfield will move over from his natural right tackle position to replace him. The former eighth overall pick, Monroe has graded out as the 12th best left tackle this season by Pro Football Focus.
  • Cameron Bradfield is expected to start at right tackle in the exhibition opener, pushing Eben Britton inside to left guard.
Undrafted out of Grand Valley State, Bradfield started two games for the Jaguars last year before an impressive camp this summer. The move will likely be temporary, as the Jags are looking for their best five starters with LG Will Rackley (ankle) out 3-4 weeks.
  • Jaguars RT Cameron Bradfield (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 2.
Bradfield suffered the injury in the first half of Week 1. Guy Whimper played the entire second half against the Vikings and will draw the start on Sunday. He has a steep test in Houston’s J.J. Watt. Maurice Jones-Drew has an unfavorable matchup against one of the league’s top run defenses.
  • FA Tackle #62
Jaguars LG Eben Britton (ankle) and RT Cameron Bradfield (ankle) are likely to play in Week 4 against the Bengals.
Both players have missed the last two weeks with ankle injuries. Jacksonville has used a rotation of warm body veterans Guy Whimper and Herb Taylor, along with rookie free agent Mike Brewster in Britton and Bradfield’s absence. Bradfield will see a lot of Bengals LDE Carlos Dunlap.
  • The Jaguars are expected to use Cameron Bradfield in a swing tackle role.
Bradfield is currently blocked at both tackle spots by Luke Joeckel and Eugene Monroe, but is expected to see playing time at multiple positions on the offensive line. “He’s a very capable third, swing guy,” GM Dave Caldwell said. “It’s hard to find a quality backup. We feel good with him there.”
  • The Florida Times Union says the Jaguars don’t have a starting right tackle candidate on their roster.
Guy Whimper was cut last month, Eben Britton is a free agent and Tyler Polumbus chose to re-sign with the Redskins. That leaves Cameron Bradfield, who was benched at the end of last year. The Jags aren’t in the mix for free agents Andre Smith and Sebastian Vollmer, so they may look to the draft to address the position.
  • FA Tackle #68
Coach Gus Bradley says Austin Pasztor will get the first crack at the Jaguars’ starting right tackle job following the trade of LT Eugene Monroe.
No. 2 overall pick Luke Joeckel will move to his more natural position of left tackle with Monroe now out of the picture. The Jaguars acquired 2014 fourth- and fifth-round picks from the Ravens in exchange for Monroe. Pasztor started three games at left guard last season. He held up reasonably well, but playing the outside is much different than the inside obviously. Cameron Bradfield will also be in the mix for the right tackle job in Jacksonville.
  • SEA Tackle #78
Jaguars LT Luke Joeckel is out for the season due to a fractured right ankle.
If the 0-5 Jags weren’t at rock bottom before, they certainly are now. Joeckel, the No. 2 overall pick in this year’s draft, was just installed at left tackle thanks to the Eugene Monroe trade. But after getting rolled up from behind early in Sunday’s Week 5 loss to the Rams, 2013 turns into a lost season. The Jags will be forced to turn to Cameron Bradfield at left tackle, making matters even more difficult for the two-headed disaster of Blaine Gabbert and Chad Henne.
  • SEA Tackle #78
Jaguars LT Luke Joeckel left Sunday’s Week 5 game at St. Louis with an ankle injury and is doubtful to return.
Joeckel was run-blocking near the end of the first quarter when a Rams defender unintentionally rolled into the back of his right leg. The No. 2 overall pick -- making his first start at left tackle thanks to the Eugene Monroe -- went down in a heap and had to be carted off. Cameron Bradfield came on and immediately surrendered a pressure that led to a Blaine Gabbert pick-six.
  • Cowboys signed OT Cameron Bradfield.
Bradfield, 29 in September, has been out of the league since making two starts for the Jaguars back in 2014. He has 41 career games and 27 starts under his belt and will compete with Charles Brown, Chaz Green, and others for a backup job.
