A rotational defensive end, Ah You underwent surgery to place a pin in his wrist. He could miss more than just the one game, which will give first-rounder Robert Quinn a chance to suit up.

The new regime must not have been impressed with what it saw on Ah You’s 2011 game tape. The former seventh-round pick out of Oklahoma managed just six tackles and one sack in nine appearances. He won’t be back with the Rams.

The Vikings are reportedly also keeping tabs on Ah You, who was declined a restricted free agent tender by the Rams in early March. Ah You goes 6'4/275. Going on age 30, he wouldn’t add much spice to any team’s defensive line.

Bills DE Ryan Denney suffered a fractured foot in Friday’s exhibition loss.

They’ll have to keep Anthony Hargrove now. Even though Denney doesn’t start, this is a major blow to an up-and-coming defense. The 6-7 Denney is a marvelous nickel rusher with starting-caliber talent. Look for Denney to miss the entire season and seventh-round pick C.J. Ah You to make the team.

Bills DEs Aaron Schobel and Chris Kelsay will play more early in the season following the losses of Ryan Denney and Anthony Hargrove.

Instead of incorporating C.J. Ah You and Eric Powell into the rotation, the Bills will simply have their starters play more. Already a strong DL1, Schobel should be an especially consistent source of tackles in the first four games.

The suspension of Anthony Hargrove opens the door for Eric Powell to win the No. 4 defensive end spot in Buffalo.
