  • FA Wide Receiver #89
Bryant Johnson returned to practice Monday for the first time during training camp.
Last year’s first-round pick will be counted on to start in week one and beyond. Perhaps the team’s purest deep threat, Johnson has fantasy potential, especially without Anquan Boldin in the lineup. We’re in wait-and-see mode with him.
  • FA Wide Receiver #89
Bryant Johnson, questionable with an ankle injury, showed improvement during Monday’s practice.
It looks like Johnson will be able to play. With Anquan Boldin out, he’s worth a roster spot on fantasy teams that need wide receiver depth.
  • FA Wide Receiver #89
Cardinals receiver Bryant Johnson is no longer listed on the Cardinals injury report.
The 2003 first-round pick has some fantasy value with Anquan Boldin out. He’s also got a nice week one match-up versus St. Louis, but it would take a lot of guts to start in fantasy leagues this week.
  • FA Wide Receiver #89
Arizona starting receiver Bryant Johnson could miss the start of training camp with a stress fracture in his foot.
Arizona plans to run three wideouts in their base offensive set, so this could be a big loss. Johnson is expected to be Arizona’s prime deep threat. A medical exam later this week should provide a prognosis.
  • BUF Coaching Staff
Lions signed WR Ronald Curry to a one-year contract.
Curry, 30, battled injuries and finished ’08 with only 19 catches in Oakland. Drops have also been an issue, but Curry can play the slot and both outside positions. He’ll get a shot to line up between Calvin and Bryant Johnson in three-receiver sets, and possibly push the latter to start. Curry has experience with Daunte Culpepper and should benefit going to a dome.
  • FA Wide Receiver #89
Cardinals third receiver Bryant Johnson caught three balls for 49 yards and a touchdown in Friday night’s exhibition contest.
Johnson has become an afterthought behind Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin but could have fantasy value if either goes down this year.
  • FA Wide Receiver #13
Jacoby Jones will start against the Dolphins Sunday if Kevin Walter (collarbone) can’t go.
Jones has plenty of talent and explosiveness, but inconsistency has been an issue throughout his career. And now that the Texans are running more effectively and often than ever before, Jones’ target count could be an issue. Still, there’s enough upside here to make an add just in case Walter’s collarbone issue lingers. Bryant Johnson would become the third receiver in that case.
  • FA Wide Receiver #89
Bryant Johnson may take less snaps in the upcoming weeks because he’s not 100%.
The Cardinals No. 2 receiver has failed to get on track, partly because of a foot injury. Coach Dennis Green believes less snaps will help his production. We’re still keeping a close eye on Johnson as a fantasy sleeper if Arizona could start moving the ball.
  • FA Wide Receiver #89
Bryant Johnson caught six passes for 53 yards in week three.
We’d like to see Johnson back up this performance with another before grabbing him in most leagues. The former first-rounder is an intriguing pickup if Arizona can get their offense going.
  • FA Wide Receiver #89
    Texans re-signed WR Bryant Johnson.
Although Houston carried Johnson on the roster for all 16 games last year, he managed just six catches for 90 yards while playing 17 percent of the snaps. It speaks volumes about the state of Roy Williams’ career that Johnson was the preferred option after Thursday’s workout. Johnson will only stay on the roster if Lestar Jean and/or DeVier Posey fail to emerge in August. Jean remains the favorite for the third receiver job.
