Free agent LB Bryan Kehl is visiting the Redskins on Monday, and NFL.com’s Jason La Canfora reports there’s a “strong chance a deal gets done.”
Kehl recently visited the Dolphins, and has also worked out for the Bears. A 2008 fourth-round pick of the Giants, Kehl spent the past two seasons in St. Louis, where he saw limited snaps for one of the league’s worst linebacker corps in 2011. He’d be primarily a special teamer in Washington.

Redskins signed LB Bryan Kehl, formerly of the Rams.
Kehl will provide depth at inside linebacker, but should primarily play special teams after struggling to get on the field for the Rams’ abysmal linebacker corps last season. A fourth-round pick in 2008, Kehl has made just five career starts, notching 110 tackles, one sack and one interception in 59 games.

Dolphins worked out free agent LBs Jonathan Goff, Quentin Groves, Gary Guyton, and Bryan Kehl.
We knew Groves and Guyton were scheduled to visit Miami. It now looks like the Dolphins aim to sign one backup linebacker from the group of four working out. Goff’s only other reported visit was to Cleveland three weeks ago.

Rams LB Bryan Kehl (ankle) has been downgraded from questionable to out.
Kehl was set to test the ankle today but apparently couldn’t put enough pressure on it to be available for Sunday. Brady Poppinga is expected to start in a linebacker group that features a host of BYU and Ohio State connections in Kehl, Poppinga, and James Laurinaitis.

The Redskins will release ILB Bryan Kehl if they cannot trade him Friday.
It’s a surprise as Kehl had a standout preseason and was expected to stick as the eighth or ninth linebacker. CBS’ Jason La Canfora is already reporting that “several” teams are interested in him. He suggests the Saints as a possible trading partner.

    Chiefs waived LB Bryan Kehl.
The fifth-year pro was signed in early October, but ended up appearing in only three games as a special teamer. Before being waived by the Redskins in camp, Kehl had appeared in at least 14 games four straight seasons.

Redskins claimed LB Bryan Kehl off waivers from the Chiefs.
LB Mario Addison has been waived in a corresponding move. This is a depth move with Keenan Robinson now on injured reserve. Kehl, who was waived by the Redskins earlier this year in camp, figures to contribute mainly on special teams.

    Chiefs signed LB Bryan Kehl.
The former Giants fourth-rounder worked out for the team a month ago. Kehl will back up Derrick Johnson and Jovan Belcher while pitching in on special teams.
  • FA Linebacker #98
Rams SLB Brady Poppinga suffered a left calf injury in Sunday’s loss to the Cowboys and did not return.
Poppinga went down in the second quarter and was replaced by Bryan Kehl. After yesterday’s debacle, the Rams are giving up a league-worst 183.8 yards per game on the ground.

    Redskins re-signed LB Bryan Kehl.
A reserve linebacker and special teamer, Kehl was claimed off waivers in November. He could see some time on defense in 2013, but his primary responsibility will remain kick coverage.
