Eagles selected Miami G Brandon Washington with the No. 200 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft.
After spending the last two seasons as the Canes’ starting left tackle, Washington decided to forgo his senior season and enter the draft. Standing at 6'3/320, the 2011 first-team All-ACC pick will compete for a No. 2 job behind Evan Mathis and Danny Watkins.
  • Eagles agreed to terms with sixth-round OG Brandon Washington on a four-year contract.
Washington was Miami’s left tackle as a junior in 2011, but will play guard with Philadelphia. A 27-game starter in college, Washington goes 6-foot-3, 320 and is athletic. He could develop into a starter in a few years.
  • Miami (FL) T/G Brandon Washington and DE Olivier Vernon will forgo their senior seasons and enter the 2012 NFL draft.
Washington is considered the better pro prospect of the two. A 2011 first-team All-ACC pick, Washington was the Canes’ starting left tackle the past two seasons. At 6'4/320, he is considered a potential impact guard at the next level. Vernon flashed big-time pass-rush ability as a sophomore before sitting out much of his junior year due to an agent-related suspension. The Hurricanes listed Vernon at 6'4/265. He’s considered a late-round prospect.
  • Eagles waived G Brandon Washington.
A sixth-round pick, Washington was considered a project coming out of Miami. An athletic 6-foot-3, 320 pounds, he’s a strong candidate for the practice squad.
  • Rams re-signed exclusive rights free agent OG Brandon Washington to a one-year, $585,000 contract.
Washington was the Eagles’ sixth-round pick in 2012. He was part of final cuts that year and has been with the Rams ever since. Viewed as a project with upside coming out of Miami, the time is now or never for Washington. He has a great opportunity ahead of him with the offensive line-starved Rams.
  • Rams waived OG Brandon Washington.
A 2012 sixth-rounder, Washington had yet to appear in a game. He’ll be a candidate for the practice squad.
