Brad Wanamaker entered into the league’s health and safety protocols on Friday, per Shams Charania.
Brad Wanamaker is playing on a 10-day deal and started for the Wizards on Thursday. He should be back before his contract ends, thanks to the new protocols. When he does return, it’s unlikely he makes an impact in fantasy.

  • NBA Point Guard #22
Brad Wanamaker struggled to get his shot to drop on Thursday, going 2-of-5 from the floor and 3-of-3 at the stripe for seven points over 27 minutes in an easy win over the Cavs.
Wanamaker got the start tonight with Spencer Dinwiddie entering the health & safety protocols, and while he struggled to get his shot to drop, he did add seven assists, five boards and two steals while he was out there without committing a single turnover. He could be a low-end option in deep leagues while Dinwiddie, Aaron Holiday and Raul Neto are all in quarantine.

  • NBA Point Guard #22
Brad Wanamaker, Bradley Beal, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Kyle Kuzma, and Daniel Gafford will start Saturday’s game against the Cavaliers.
One day after agreeing to a 10-day contract, Wanamaker is in the starting lineup. Washington is without Spencer Dinwiddie, Aaron Holiday, and Raul Neto due to health and safety protocols, so Wanamaker will play plenty in his Wizards debut. Beal and Caldwell-Pope are back in the lineup after missing time due to health and safety protocols.

  • DAL Point Guard #26
Spencer Dinwiddie has entered the league’s health and safety protocols.
At a minimum, Dinwiddie will miss Thursday’s game against the Cavaliers. With Aaron Holiday and Raul Neto also sidelined due to protocols, recent signing Brad Wanamaker will be entrusted with the task of handling the minutes at point guard for the foreseeable future. Streaming Wanamaker doesn’t come without risk, but the Wizards don’t have anyone else to run the show at this point.

  • HOU Point Guard #0
Aaron Holiday (COVID-protocols) will not be available for Thursday’s game vs. Cleveland.
Holiday entered the health & safety protocols on Monday, so the earliest he’ll be able to return will be on Jan. 3 vs. Charlotte. With Spencer Dinwiddie, Raul Neto and Cassius Winston all in quarantine, we might see the recently signed Brad Wanamaker get a spot-start tonight, but he’s an unattractive option in fantasy hoops.

  • NBA Point Guard #22
The Wizards plan to sign Brad Wanamaker, according to Sam Amico of HoopsWire.
Amico did not specify, but it would make sense that this would be a 10-day deal given the current status of the NBA. Wanamaker has appeared in 22 games for the Pacers this season, but has average just 3.4 points per game. With that being said, Wanamaker isn’t expected to make a splash in fantasy basketball.

  • NBA Point Guard #28
The Indiana Pacers are waiving Brad Wanamaker, and plan to sign guard, Keifer Sykes, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
Sykes currently leads the G-League in assists per game with 8.0, and is shooting 35% from the three-point line on 7.2 attempts per game. With Malcolm Brogdon (achilles soreness) and T.J. McConnell (right hand) sidelined, the Pacers are looking to add some production in those departments. Sykes is not expected to be a fantasy target, at least not at the moment.

  • WAS Point Guard #15
Malcolm Brogdon (right Achilles soreness) has been ruled out for Thursday’s game against the Rockets.
Brogdon being ruled out isn’t a major surprise, as he only played eight minutes before exiting Tuesday’s loss to the Heat. His absence will impact multiple players, beginning with Brad Wanamaker. He should start, but doesn’t offer a great deal fantasy-wise. Brogdon’s absence also frees up more opportunities for Caris LeVert to make plays on the ball, thus enhancing his fantasy value by a considerable amount. Deep league fantasy managers will want to consider Chris Duarte, who’s rostered in 47% of Yahoo leagues.

  • WAS Point Guard #15
Malcolm Brogdon (right Achilles soreness) will not return to Tuesday’s game against the Heat.
Brogdon, who was listed on the injury report for this very issue before being cleared to start, did not return to Tuesday’s game after playing eight minutes in the first quarter. With their starting point guard now done for the night, look for the Pacers to give more minutes to Brad Wanamaker. After Tuesday, Indiana hosts Houston Thursday night and visits Chicago on Sunday. If Brogdon has to miss any (or both) of those games, Wanamaker would return to the starting lineup.

  • NBA Point Guard #22
Brad Wanamaker scored six points on 2-of-4 shooting (2-of-2 FT) Thursday, to go with one rebound, three assists, two steals and one turnover across 25 minutes in a win over Detroit.
Wanamaker got the spot-start tonight with Malcolm Brogdon (sore Achilles) taking the night off on the second leg of a back-to-back, but he was thoroughly underwhelming, and he’ll be returning to a limited reserve role for Indiana’s next game on Tuesday in Miami. Leave him on the wire.
