The New England Revolution announced Monday that they have parted ways with general manager Michael Burns.
Burns served the role for seven years after a successful playing career from 1996-2002, which included 75 appearances for the U.S. Men's National Team.
The Revs recently fired head coach Brad Friedel and named Mike Lapper interim head coach after a disappointing start to this season. They currently sit in last place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 3-8-2 (11 points).
The team seems to have responded well to the change, winning their first game under Lapper 3-1 over the San Jose Earthquakes.
Regarding what the team's next steps will be, team President Brian Biello said, "We expect to make an announcement related to leadership of the soccer organization in the coming days.”
