WATCH: Bogaerts, Verdugo hit back-to-back homers in Game 2

Jason Mastrodonato explains why he thinks Kyle Schwarber is the ‘x-factor’ for the Red Sox in their series against the Rays and why he expects Tampa to struggle against the veteran slugger.

Xander Bogaerts and Alex Verdugo combined to drive in all four of the Boston Red Sox' runs through the first three innings of Friday night's ALDS Game 2 vs. the Tampa Bay Rays.

After notching a pair of RBI singles in the first inning, the duo belted back-to-back home runs in the third to cut the deficit to one.

Bogaerts' solo shot came first, making him the first Red Sox shortstop with multiple home runs in a postseason since Nomar Garciaparra in 1999.

Then, Verdugo made it a 5-4 ballgame:

The two homers were much-needed after Sox starter Chris Sale allowed five runs in a nightmare first inning. Boston trails the series 1-0 after dropping Game 1, 5-0.
