Watch Michael Chavis smoke a double for his first major league hit

Red Sox rookie Michael Chavis wasted no time earning his first major league hit.

Chavis' first at-bat in the bigs came in the ninth inning on Saturday night as he pinch hit for catcher Sandy Leon. On a 1-2 pitch from Rays reliever Jose Alvarado, the 23-year-old smoked a double over center fielder Kevin Kiermaier's head.

That's a moment Chavis won't ever forget.

We can expect to see more of Chavis for the foreseeable future with Dustin Pedroia, Eduardo Nuñez, and Brock Holt all on the injured list. The Red Sox' top hitting prospect likely will play a mix of first base and third base until manager Alex Cora feels more comfortable putting him at second.
