A resurgent Bobby Dalbec is giving the Boston Red Sox much-needed offense from the bottom of the lineup, and his hot streak continued Saturday against the Baltimore Orioles.
The Red Sox first baseman blasted two home runs, giving him 14 on the season. He finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBI as the Sox cruised to a 16-2 win at Fenway Park in Chris Sale's return.
The first homer was a two-run shot in the fifth inning that gave Boston a 10-2 lead.

His second home run increased the Red Sox lead to 15-2 in the sixth inning.
Dalbec is batting .391 (9-for-23) with three homers, two doubles, a triple and four walks in the month of August. This pace is a massive improvement from the rest of his 2021 campaign. Dalbec has not hit above .237 in any one month this year, and he entered Saturday batting .229 on the season.
The Red Sox will need to find at-bats for trade deadline acquisition Kyle Schwarber now that he's ready to make an impact. Taking some from Dalbec seemed like a no-brainer just a few weeks ago, but that certainly wouldn't be a good idea right now given his hot streak at the plate.
