E-Rod gets good news amid battle with myocarditis

Eduardo Rodriguez and the Boston Red Sox received encouraging news Friday as the left-hander continues his recovery from myocarditis.

Rodriguez was shut down for the 2020 MLB season in August after being diagnosed with the heart issue as a result of a battle with COVID-19. E-Rod is on the right track to a full recovery, however, and has been cleared to start walking on a treadmill.

In July, Rodriguez said COVID-19 "hit him really hard" and made him feel "like he was 100 years old." The virus, which has taken the lives of more than 200,000 Americans, clearly has taken a toll on the 27-year-old's body.

Nonetheless, E-Rod being cleared to begin physical activity is a great sign. It's unclear as of now whether he'll be able to have a normal offseason, but all that truly matters is that his health continues to improve.
