The Boston Red Sox announced a series of roster moves on Friday as they begin the second half of the 2022 MLB season.
Rookie right-hander Brayan Bello was recalled from Triple-A Worcester. He'll replace Chris Sale on the active roster as the veteran southpaw was placed on the 15-day injured list with a fractured left pinkie finger. Sale suffered the injury after being struck by a comebacker in Sunday's game vs. the New York Yankees.
In addition, catcher Connor Wong was optioned to Triple-A Worcester and infielder Yolmer Sanchez was selected to the active roster.

Boston begins its three-game set vs. Toronto at Fenway Park on Friday night. First pitch for the series opener is set for 7:10 p.m. ET.
