The 2018 Red Sox don't have much to prove when it comes to their ability to win on the road. After all, they went 50-31 in road games this season.
But the postseason is a whole different monster. Momentum can shift in an instant when the crowd becomes a factor. Fortunately for the Red Sox, they succeeded in quieting the fans at Minute Maid Park and earned an 8-2 victory in Game 3 to take a 2-1 series lead.
Mookie Betts emphasized after the win that the team enters each game with the same approach, whether it be at Fenway Park or elsewhere.
"It doesn't matter where we play," Betts said. "You gotta play 27 outs, still the same game of baseball. We understand that and the environment around us doesn't affect us on the field."
Andrew Benintendi shared the same sentiments regarding the Red Sox' confidence away from Boston.
"We're not uncomfortable on the road," Benintendi said. "Obviously, they have a good crowd here and they try to get pretty loud. We were able to jump out and grab a lead early which I think is huge and tried to keep them out of it as long as possible and when you can do that, usually good things will happen."
