Red Sox minor leaguer Yairo Muñoz extended his hit streak in Triple-A to 34 consecutive games on Friday night. The Worcester Red Sox outfielder is now tied with Dom DiMaggio for the longest hit streak in Red Sox organizational history.

Hitting in 34 straight games at any level is quite impressive. Muñoz has already broken the Red Sox Triple-A hit streak record, which was 25 games. He'll have a chance to break the organizational hit streak record Saturday afternoon when the WooSox host the Syracuse Mets at Polar Park.

The 26-year-old is hitting .318 with six home runs and 31 RBI in 76 games for the WooSox this year.
Muñoz definitely has earned a chance for some at-bats at the major league level, and the Red Sox would be wise to find him an opportunity before the end of the regular season.
