John Tomase says based on Chaim Bloom’s comments on Monday, he’s “rapidly losing hope” that Boston will add a big name in free agency this spring, but says there’s one player who may still makes sense for the Red Sox.
The Boston Red Sox will not be bringing Kyle Schwarber back to Fenway Park for the 2022 MLB season.
The veteran slugger has agreed to a contract with the Philadelphia Phillies, per NBC Sports Philly's Jim Salisbury.

Schwarber batted .291 with seven home runs and 18 RBI in 41 regular season games with the Red Sox. He also hit three homers with six RBI, five walks and eight runs scored in 11 playoff games.
The loss of Schwarber is another blow to the power in Boston's lineup. The Red Sox still have options available on the free agent market to add some power, most notably Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman. The Sox reportedly are among the teams interested in Freeman.
