David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez combined to form of the best 1-2 punches in MLB history from 2003 to 2008. The Boston Red Sox legends led the way in the team's 2004 and 2007 World Series runs.
The Dominican Republic natives remain close to this day. So when Ortiz was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame on Sunday, Ramirez was as proud as the rest of Red Sox Nation.

He issued a congratulatory video message to Big Papi on Monday.
"I want to congratulate David Ortiz for being inducted into the Hall of Fame," Ramirez said, as translated by MLB insider Hector Gomez. "David is a Dominican pride. David, I love you, thank you for the good advices that you and Pedro gave me. I hope you enjoy this achievement just as Dominicans are enjoying it."
A number of Ortiz's former Red Sox teammates were in attendance for his induction, including Pedro Martinez, Dustin Pedroia, Mike Lowell, Tim Wakefield, Jason Varitek, Kevin Youkilis, Johnny Damon, and Kevin Millar. Ramirez didn't make the trip to Cooperstown, but he made up for his absence with a heartfelt message for his longtime friend.
Ramirez received only 28.9 percent of Hall of Fame votes on the 2022 ballot. Players must receive at least 75 percent for induction. He's eligible to appear on the ballot for up to four more years.
