Everyone has a take on the reported blockbuster trade that sent Boston Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts and starting pitcher David Price to the Los Angeles Dodgers, including some of the American League East team's former players.
Will Middlebrooks, who spent three seasons in Boston and played third base on its 2013 World Series-winning team, didn't hold back in his criticism of the trade Tuesday night on Twitter.

One of Middlebrooks' teammates on that 2013 championship roster was Shane Victorino, who also seemed perplexed by the Betts trade.
It's very unlike the Red Sox to trade a former American League MVP winner in the prime of his career, but with Betts able to become an unrestricted free agent after the 2020 season, it made sense to move him if a contract agreement couldn't be reached, thus avoiding the risk of losing a player of his caliber for nothing. That said, if you're going to make that kind of trade, you need to get good value in return, and it doesn't look like the Red Sox accomplished that by acquiring outfielder Alex Verdugo (from the Dodgers) and pitcher Brusdar Graterol (from the Minnesota Twins) in the deal.
