Hunter Renfroe isn't the first name that comes to mind when thinking about the Boston Red Sox, but he's been one of their best all-around players as of late.
The 29-year-old has overcome a slow start to the season at the dish, hitting .485 with two home runs during his current 10-game hitting streak. He's also impressing with the glove, ranking second among MLB right fielders in defensive runs saved (5).

Renfroe's contributions earned major praise from Red Sox manager Alex Cora during his MLB Network appearance on Monday.
“I even sometimes forget about talking (about) him, because you take him for granted,” Cora said. “Defensively, he’s, right now, the best defensive right fielder in the big leagues. And, offensively, he’s made some adjustments. He’s been able to stay on top of the fastball, go the other way. Controlling the strike zone, making more contact.
"And right now, since we went to (Texas), you can see the difference. The at-bats are amazing, quality at-bats every night. And we’re very pleased with the way he’s going.”
Cora declaring Renfroe the game's "best defensive right fielder" isn't hyperbole. As of Monday, Renfroe leads all right fielders in DEF rating (2.0) and UZR (4.1).
While he may sometimes fall under the radar, Renfroe's $3.1 million contract is looking like a serious bargain. He'll look to continue his hot streak Monday vs. the Miami Marlins, followed by a three-game set at Fenway Park against the Houston Astros.
