A new generation of players will be welcomed into Major League Baseball on Monday night when the first and second rounds of the 2019 draft take place.
The Baltimore Orioles, who finished with the worst record in baseball in 2018, will select No. 1 overall.
The defending World Series champion Boston Red Sox will not pick in the first round because they were penalized for being more than $40 million above the luxury tax threshold in 2018. Boston's first pick of the night will come at No. 43 overall (second round). The Red Sox also will pick at No. 69 before making their third-round selection Tuesday night.
