New England Patriots wide receiver Antonio Brown is back at practice Thursday -- with a new jersey number, too -- and the portion of the session open to the media included him catching a pass from quarterback Tom Brady.

NBC Sports Boston Patriots insider Phil Perry tweeted a video of the drill. Brown hauled in the pass in the right corner of the end zone with Troy Brown providing some defensive resistance.

NESN's Zack Cox shared a closer look at the reception:

The Boston Globe's Jim McBride posted a clip of Brown going through a ball security drill alongside Julian Edelman. Brown didn't fumble even one time in 15 games for the Pittsburgh Steelers last season.

It's still unknown if Brown will make his debut Sunday when the Patriots take on the Dolphins in Miami for their Week 2 matchup. Patriots head coach Bill Belichick has brushed off questions all week on Brown's status for Sunday's game.

Oddsmakers have pegged the Patriots as 18.5-point favorites against the Dolphins, and the defending Super Bowl champs certainly don't need Brown to take care of business in Miami. That said, easing him into the offense against one of the league's worst teams -- including a defense that gave up 59 points in Week 1 -- might be the best way for Brown to start building his on-field chemistry with Brady.
