These stats from Patriots CB Stephon Gilmore's 2019 season are incredible

New England Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore has been one of the most outstanding players of the 2019 NFL season.

The 29-year-old defensive back is tied for the league lead in both interceptions (six) and passes defensed (18). He picked off two passes in Sunday's Week 15 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, and he returned one of them for a touchdown.

Gilmore's latest impressive performance led to a flurry of awesome stats that highlight the elite level he's played at throughout the season.

Here's a sample of those stats:

Gilmore is among the top contenders for AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year, an award no Patriots player has ever won. Charles Woodson was the last cornerback to win the award in 2009, and before him, the most recent player at that position honored was Deion Sanders in 1994.

The Patriots defense has been one of the league's best all season, and Gilmore is without a doubt the unit's MVP. He absolutely deserves to be a leading candidate for all of the DPOY awards.
