The New England Patriots own the No. 2 seed in the AFC playoff picture entering Week 15, but only by the slimmest of margins.
The Houston Texans, who like the Patriots have a 9-4 record, take on the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium on Saturday in a pivotal matchup for the AFC playoff race. If the Texans win, the Patriots would need to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field on Sunday to hold onto the No. 2 seed.
The Patriots own the tiebreaker with the Texans as a result of their Week 1 victory at Gillette Stadium.
Both the Patriots and Texans also received new life in the race for the No. 1 seed when the Kansas City Chiefs lost to the San Diego Chargers on Thursday night.
