The 2000 NFL Draft saw 12 quarterbacks selected, but the class is best known for one player in particular.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady had a great career at Michigan but waited a long time to hear his name called at the draft. Not until the sixth round did the New England Patriots take a chance on Brady with the 199th overall pick. He was the seventh quarterback taken.

It turned out to be arguably the greatest draft pick in sports history. Brady won six Super Bowl titles and three league MVP awards in 20 seasons with the Patriots before joining the Bucs as a free agent last month.
Here's a look at how Brady's stats compare to the other quarterbacks selected in the 2000 draft. These numbers are pretty amazing.
While the 2000 quarterback class didn't enjoy a ton of success outside of Brady, some of these players did have their moments.
Chad Pennington, who was the first QB taken at No. 18 overall, had a solid career for the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins. He completed 66 percent of his passes with 102 touchdowns and 64 interceptions over 11 seasons. Pennington also started six playoff games. His numbers would've been even more impressive if not for the multitude of injuries he battled through.

Marc Bulger also had a decent career, highlighted by a 2003 season in which he led the St. Louis Rams to a 12-4 record and an NFC West title.

The majority of this QB class was really bad, however. In fact, eight of the 12 quarterbacks drafted in 2000 spent zero seasons as the primary starter for their team. The worst pick was the San Francisco 49ers taking Giovanni Carmazzi out of Hofstra with the 65th overall pick in the third round. Carmazzi never played in a regular season game and was out of the league by the start of the 2002 season.
Brady is the only active player remaining from the 2000 draft, and given the fact his competitive fire still burns bright, it wouldn't be surprising to see him play a few more years.
