ESPN’s Dianna Russini reported early Tuesday that the Patriots ask for Gilmore after “multiple” teams came calling was a first-rounder and a player. That’s steep but not outrageous given there’s another year on Gilmore’s contract and he’s a high-level corner.

The Patriots spent a second-round pick last year on wideout Mohamed Sanu who provided them little and was cut during training camp this year. That won’t be the case with Gilmore. Wherever he goes, he’ll contribute. But he almost certainly will want a salary bump in 2021.
According to an NFC executive, when it comes to Gilmore, the Patriots don’t seem particularly anxious to part with the corner at this time for anything but the right price.
