Robert Kraft has notable court date set for solicitation charges

We won't have closure on Robert Kraft's legal issues for at least a couple months.

The New England Patriots owner is set to appear in Palm Beach County (Fla.) court at 8:30 a.m. ET on April 24 to face two misdemeanor charges of soliciting a prostitute, the county's state attorney, David Aronberg, confirmed in a press conference Monday.

That's interesting timing, as the 2019 NFL Draft begins the following day on April 25 in Nashville.

Per Aronberg, Kraft doesn't have to appear in person for his court date, as an attorney can attend on his behalf. That would seem to be the likely scenario, as the 77-year-old owner already has hired a well-known defense lawyer, Jack Goldberger, who is based in Palm Beach County.

According to documents released Monday, Kraft was placed at the Orchids of Asia day spa in Jupiter, Fla., on two separate occasions -- one of which was the morning of the AFC Championship Game -- and paid to receive sexual acts both times.

Officials said there is surveillance camera evidence of Kraft and others from inside the spa, which many believe will be made public. As such, the longtime Patriots owner reportedly isn't expected to dispute the charges, which carry a maximum sentence of a year in jail but also could result in community service and a fine.
