The New England Patriots cleared a roster spot Friday by waiving wide receiver Will Hastings.
Hastings, who was signed as an undrafted free agent in April, was a slot target for Patriots quarterback Jarrett Stidham at Auburn. The 24-year-old had also been cut by New England in July before being re-signed the following day.

With Hastings waived, the Patriots WR depth chart now consists of Julian Edelman, N'Keal Harry, Mohamed Sanu, Gunner Olszewski, Jakobi Meyers, Devin Ross, Jeff Thomas, Isaiah Zuber and Matthew Slater.
NFL teams have until 4 p.m. on Sept. 5 to trim their rosters to no more than 53 players.
