New England Patriots fans savoring every game Tom Brady plays because they don't know which one will be his last recently got some encouraging words from the quarterback himself.
Brady talked about his future aspirations during his weekly Westwood One radio interview with Jim Gray on Monday night.
“I absolutely believe I will (play next season),” Brady told Jim Gray on Monday night. “I know I’ve talked about it for a long time. I have goals to play not only next year, but beyond that, and I’m going to try to do it as best I possibly can. I’m going to give it my all like I always have.
“It’ll certainly be a challenge. I don’t take any of these things for granted. But I hope I can keep playing, and I hope I can keep playing at a championship level.”
Brady isn't having his typical MVP-caliber season, but he's still one of the elite quarterbacks in the NFL.
The 41-year-old veteran is completing 65.4 percent of his passes for 4,105 yards with 25 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He's also beaten some of the best quarterbacks in the league this season, including Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs phenom Patrick Mahomes.
The Patriots are the No. 2 seed in the AFC playoff picture entering Week 17, and they will continue to be a top contender in the conference as long as Brady is under center.
