SIGN UP HERE Newton ran for his 10th touchdown of the season, giving the Patriots an early 7-0 lead. He scored another rushing touchdown late in the second quarter.
As ESPN Stats & Info notes (h/t Mike Reiss), Newton is the only QB in league history to score 10-plus rushing TDs in multiple seasons.

Newton has struggled throwing the football throughout the season, but his effectiveness running the football has been consistently good. His 387 rushing yards entering Sunday were the fourth-most among all quarterbacks, and he's now tied for the third-most rushing touchdowns among all players with 11.
Newton's score against the Chargers gives him a rushing touchdown in seven of the 11 games he's played for the Patriots this season.
