The New England Patriots' coaching staff is undergoing significant changes this week.
The Miami Dolphins are hiring Patriots wide receivers coach Chad O'Shea as their new offensive coordinator, ESPN's Field Yates reported Wednesday, via a source.
O'Shea, who has been with New England since 2009, will reunite with Brian Flores, who was officially named Dolphins head coach Monday after 15 seasons in the Patriots' organization.
O'Shea was considered a "front-runner" for Miami's offensive coordinator job under Flores, who took over for the fired Adam Gase.
According to Yates, Flores also will bring in another former Patriot: ex-wide receiver Tiquan Underwood, who will serve as Miami's offensive quality control coach.
Underwood spent the 2011 season with the Patriots, catching just three passes for 30 yards in six games before New England released him the night before Super Bowl XLVI.
Flores also is expected to hire Patriots assistant quarterbacks coach Jerry Schuplinski as his new quarterbacks coach, leaving New England with two coaching vacancies on offense.
