Cam Newton is putting in maximum effort to improve his abilities and win the starting quarterback job for the New England Patriots.
Of course, every quarterback in a competition for the No. 1 role is going to try really hard. That said, Newton appears to be spending more hours than most players working on his craft.
Patriots cornerback Jason McCourty did an interview Friday morning on WEEI's "The Greg Hill Show", and he explained how Newton is at the facility for most of the day doing what he can to improve.

SIGN UP HERE Newton is the favorite to win the job over second-year QB Jarrett Stidham and veteran Brian Hoyer. The former league MVP has played well in training camp, and he's received the majority of the reps in practice. In addition to performing at a high level on the field, Newton also is busy off the field learning the Patriots' offensive playbook.
It's not surprising at all to hear of Newton's impressive dedication to the Patriots. The 31-year-old quarterback has a lot to prove during the 2020 NFL season. Many teams passed on him in free agency after he was released by the Carolina Panthers in March. You can bet Newton is motivated to show those teams made a mistake, and to also set himself up for a nice raise next offseason.
For both of those to happen, he needs to have a strong 2020 with the Patriots. So far, Newton is off to a pretty good start.
