This great Jordan Spieth story shows Tom Brady's legendary competitiveness

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady probably is the most competitive athlete in all of sports, and one of the top golfers in the world found out during a friendly round at Augusta.

Jordan Spieth, who's won three majors (including the 2015 Masters), shared a great story during a recent appearance on "The Dan Patrick Show" of when he and Brady played a round at the legendary course, and how the Patriots quarterback showed his ultra-competitive side when the final hole didn't go his way.

“We had a 2-on-2 match," Spieth said. "I ended up (making birdie on) the 18th. He had a stroke on the 18th. I hit in there a few feet. He drove it up, almost too close the green and tried to hit a flop shot, left it in the bunker, made bogey. Match was tied, so I won. He made bogey and I made birdie for a two-shot flip on the last.

"And you’re supposed to go in at Augusta and have lunch, and hang out, and he didn’t say a word to me for like an hour and a half. I mean, the most competitive -- I feel like I’ve very, very competitive -- and he is the most competitive human being I’ve ever met."

Brady probably went a little too far in this instance, but this is the type of competitiveness that has fueled him his entire career. And how can you argue with the results -- the man just won his sixth Super Bowl title, the most of any one player in NFL history.

The 41-year-old quarterback has no plans to retire anytime soon, but when he does leave the NFL, don't expect his competitive fire to burn out.
