Albert Breer discusses why Adam Gase could be a good fit in New England next year
The New England Patriots at the very least need a new quarterbacks coach to replace Jedd Fisch and may need an offensive coordinator if Josh McDaniels departs this offseason.
There's a man qualified for both roles who may be looking for a job in 2021, even if Patriots fans may not hold him in high regard.
In his column Monday morning, The MMQB's Albert Breer suggested Jets head coach Adam Gase "could factor into the new (coaching) setup" in New England if New York fires him this offseason.

Perry's Mailbag: Should Pats follow Chiefs' or Bills' rebuild plan?
Breer also mentioned Cleveland Browns assistant (and former Patriots wide receivers coach) Chad O'Shea and Patriots tight ends coach Nick Caley as names to watch for the Patriots' QB coach and/or offensive coordinator roles.
Gase goes way back with McDaniels: Both were assistants on Nick Saban's Michigan State team in 1999, and Gase served as McDaniels' wide receiver coach on the Denver Broncos in 2009 and 2010.
McDaniels reportedly will draw interest on the NFL head coach market this offseason, but if he stays in New England, it makes sense that he'd vouch for Gase to join him as an overqualified QB coach to replace Fisch, who just took the University of Arizona head coach job.

While Gase has a 32-47 overall record as a head coach with the Miami Dolphins and Jets, he has had success as an assistant, helping Peyton Manning break multiple passing records as Denver's offensive coordinator in 2013.
The Boston Globe's Ben Volin also told WEEI's "The Greg Hill Show" Monday that he "heard some buzz" about Gase coming to New England. The Jets close their 2020 season with the Patriots in Week 17, so perhaps Bill Belichick will have some words for New York's head coach after the game.
