
The New England Revolution weren't able to close the 2020 MLS regular season with a victory, falling 2-0 on the road against the Philadelphia Union.
The Union improved to 9-0-0 at home and won the Supporters' Shield for finishing with the league's best record (14-5-4). Philly will have home field advantage throughout the 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs.
New England finished the regular season at 8-7-8 and secured the No. 8 seed in the Eastern Conference.

The Revolution had already clinched a spot in the playoffs before Sunday's match, but now they must win a play-in game versus the No. 9 seed Montreal Impact on Nov. 20 at Gillette Stadium. The winner will advance to the quarterfinals.
