Captain America is a Tom Brady super fan.
During an interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Sudbury native Chris Evans couldn't be sure if he loved Brady or the New England Patriots more. He seemed to like to root for Brady more than he liked to root for the actual team.
"Tom's up there. I love the Patriots like any sports entity, but Tom is a special man," Evans said with a big smile.
Evans was at Super Bowl LI, and he celebrated with intensity -- and perhaps insanity -- when James White rushed in for the game-winning touchdown. He posted a video of his reaction on Twitter.
After the game, Evans ended up at the Super Bowl after party. He did not meet up with his quarterback hero, however.
"He might've made an appearance but he cut out. He's Tom Brady. He had to go rule the world," Evans said. "I didn’t meet Tom, and I’m not sure if I want to. I just want to let him be the thing that I imagine he is. And that’s it, that’s good enough for me.”
Evans then admitted he gets giddy just thinking about Brady, and sarcastically got jumpy in his seat. Fittingly, he knocked over his water glass, which spilled all over the floor.
