Danny Ainge likes a lot about Robert Williams. His new nickname isn't one of them.
The Boston Celtics rookie has been dubbed "The Time Lord," a catchy moniker that has found its way into the mainstream despite its dubious origins.
But while even Williams accepts the new nickname, Ainge doesn't like it one bit.
"No, I don't," Ainge said plainly Thursday on 98.5 The Sports Hub's "Toucher & Rich." "That's a bad name. ... We can do better."
Try telling that to Weird Celtics Twitter, Danny.
We have a guess why Ainge doesn't like "Time Lord:" It's a subtle reference to Williams' apparent clock management issues that resulted in him sleeping through a conference call and missing a flight to Boston early in his Celtics tenure.

The Celtics' president of basketball operations didn't offer any alternatives, though. So unless anyone has any better ideas -- the Shreveport Stallion, perhaps? -- "Time Lord" isn't going away anytime soon.
