Jayson Tatum was the best player on the court Sunday afternoon at TD Garden, outplaying Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving in leading the Boston Celtics to an impressive 126-120 win.
Tatum dropped 54 points -- the fourth 50-point game of his young NBA career -- scoring in a variety of different ways while also playing at a high level defensively.
The Celtics forward has been playing at an All-NBA level for the last two-plus months. He's now averaging a career-high 26.5 points per game. Tatum's improvement has been one of the catalysts in the Celtics winning 16 of their last 19 games and leading the league in defensive rating since New Year's Day.
