Tacko Fall reportedly has more competition as he battles for a spot on the Boston Celtics' 15-man roster.
The Celtics are signing former Xavier forward and Chicago Bulls G-Leaguer Kaiser Gates to a training camp contract, The Athletic's Shams Sharania reported Thursday.
Boston currently has 14 players under guaranteed contracts for the 2019-20 season, while Tremont Waters and Max Strus are on two-way deals and Javonte Green is on a partial/non-guaranteed deal.
Fall has an Exhibit 10 contract with the C's, meaning he's guaranteed an invite to training camp but can be waived at any point, with the possibility of joining the G-League Maine Red Claws if he goes unclaimed.
The 7-foot-6 big man now also needs to beat out Gates, who went undrafted out of Xavier in 2018 and played for Chicago's Summer League team before the Bulls waived him in October.
Boston begins training camp Sept. 28.
