Smart shares great breakdown of viral celebration with Jaylen Brown

It's time to put some respect on Marcus Smart's left hand.

The Celtics guard delivered a clutch left-handed runner with no time left on the shot clock that all but sealed Boston's Game 2 win over the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night at TD Garden.

Just as impressive as Smart's shot was his celebration; the veteran guard stared at his left hand in awe, and Jaylen Brown joined him in mock amazement.

As Smart explained Saturday before Game 3 in Brooklyn, there's some history between him and Brown regarding that celebration.

"Me and JB are always talking about who has the better left hand," Smart told reporters, as seen in the video above. "We always talk about that. There's no conversation -- it's me."

Brown might disagree with that take, but he had to tip his cap to Smart, whose left-handed heroics came after he split the nail on his left thumb, requiring it to get taped up.

"I make that play with my left hand, especially after what happened to my thumb and everything -- it was an unbelievable play," Smart said. "And JB, he just kept edging it on and prolonged that little celebration.

"I was just telling my left hand, 'You a bad dude.' And JB came over and he agreed with me."

Brown was a bad dude himself Wednesday, scoring 10 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter to help Boston erase a 17-point comeback and earn a 114-107 victory. The Celtics take a 2-0 first-round series lead into Brooklyn for Game 3 on Saturday night.
