Lost in all of the drama surrounding where he'll play next season, Kyrie Irving actually had one of his best, if not the best season of his career for the Boston Celtics.
Irving set career highs in a bunch of different statistics during the regular season, and 98.5 The Sports Hub's Sean Grande laid all of them out in the tweet below.
In addition to these new personal bests, Irving also was one of only four players to average at least 23 points, six assists and five rebounds per game this season. The other three were Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James, Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook and Houston Rockets guard James Harden.
These stats bode well for the Celtics with their first-round playoff series against the Indiana Pacers nearly here. Irving has consistently taken his game to a higher level in the playoffs throughout his career, most notably in three NBA Finals appearances as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Injury prevented him from taking part in Boston's 2018 playoff run, and even though the C's got within one victory of the NBA Finals without him, his ability to dominate offensively in key moments late in games was sorely missed in the Game 7 loss to James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Celtics certainly underperformed in the regular season, but with Irving playing at a high level and the team as a whole pretty healthy, Boston should be one of the toughest outs in the postseason.
