Jaylen Brown intends to return for Game 2: ‘I'll be back'

BOSTON – Jaylen Brown’s right hamstring injury kept him out of Boston’s 117-101 Game 1 win over Philadelphia on Monday.

But Brown told NBC Sports Boston he plans to be back in the lineup for Boston’s Game 2 matchup against the Sixers on Thursday.

“I’ll be back,” he told NBC Sports Boston. “I’m playing.”

Brown spent the hours leading up to Monday’s tip-off trying to convince the medical staff he was fit to play in Game 1.

“But there was some concern that I could re-aggravate it and it becomes a season-ending injury,” Brown said. “I’m basically trying to come back in two days from a two-week type injury.”

The return of Brown will certainly be welcomed by the Celtics who can benefit from having arguably their best two-way player back on the floor.

Brown averaged 17.9 points per game in Boston’s first-round series against Milwaukee which included a pair of games in which he eclipsed the 30-point plateau.
