Brown has jokes about Curry, Smart after his hot shooting day

The Boston Celtics hit 23 shots from 3-point range against the Orlando Magic on Sunday, the second-most they've ever made in franchise history.

Jaylen Brown's performance was a big reason why. He made a career-high 10 3-pointers on 18 shots and scored a game-high 34 points.

After the contest, Brown even tweeted that he felt like Stephen Curry on the floor in the win.

Brown's performance from behind the arc put him within striking distance of the Celtics' single-game record for 3-pointers made. That record belongs to Marcus Smart, who recorded 11 made 3-pointers.

Naturally, after the team's 112-96 win, there was one question on everybody's mind: Did Smart tell Brown that he was within striking distance of Smart's record?

"No, he didn't," Brown said to reporters after the game. "I wish someone would've told me that. I would've fired up at least five or six more to make sure I beat Marcus."

Celtics-Knicks recap: Pritchard shines as C's dominate Game 3

Pritchard, C's role players outclass Knicks' supporting cast in Game 3

There's nothing better than some friendly competition! And given that Brown was subbed out with just under four minutes left in the game, he probably would've had a chance to tie or break Smart's record if the Celtics weren't up big on the Magic and playing a back-to-back.

Brown may not have broken Smart's single-game record on Sunday, but he'll have another crack at in on Monday against the Memphis Grizzlies. If the Celtics want to stay hot, Brown feeling like Steph Curry again would go a long way toward helping them earn a second consecutive victory during a five-game week.
