Kyrie Irving unsurprisingly deflected questions about his future Wednesday night, insisting he just wants to get back to Boston after the Milwaukee Bucks ended the Celtics' season in a Game 5 rout.
But the NBA offseason waits for no one, and the reality is the Celtics will have to make several consequential decisions this summer.
Much of Boston's fate is tied to Irving, who is expected to opt out of the final year of his contract on July 1 and can alter the franchise's trajectory by either re-signing with the Celtics (as he promised back in October) or bolting for greener pastures.
He's not the only domino in Boston that could fall, however. Al Horford also can exercise his player option and sign elsewhere. Marcus Morris is an unrestricted free agent and will command a hefty raise from his $5.3 million salary after a solid 2018-19 campaign.
Then there's Terry Rozier, who is a restricted free agent and has been outspoken about the struggles he's had adjusting to a diminished role behind Irving.
