The Boston Celtics are now among the teams that have had a player test positive for the coronavirus.
According to an announcement put out by the team on Thursday night, one of the team's players officially has tested positive for COVID-19. The team didn't name the player in the release but confirmed that the player is isolated and asymptomatic at this point in time.
Marcus Smart revealed that he was the player mentioned in the release shortly after it came out. He took to Twitter to relay a message to fans to ease their concerns and encourage them to practice social distancing.
"I’m OK, I feel fine, I don’t feel any of the symptoms," Smart said. "But I can’t stress enough practicing social distancing, and really keeping yourself away from a large group of people, and just really washing your hands and help protect yourself and help protect others by protecting yourself."
It seems that Smart is in a good place and hopefully, he will be better soon.

Smart isn't alone in having tested positive for the virus. Since it was confirmed that Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert had the illness, his teammate Donovan Mitchell, Detroit Pistons forward Christian Wood, and Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant, among others, have all revealed that they have COVID-19.
Certainly, these positive tests affirm that the decision to shut down the NBA was the right choice, albeit a difficult one.
