The Celtics agreed to a two-way contract with DePaul guard Max Strus after the 2019 NBA Draft Thursday night, according to Jeremy Woo.

Strus was a two-year starter at DePaul and averaged 20.1 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.2 assists while shooting 42.9 percent from the field and 36.3 percent from three in 2019-19. He earned an All-Big East selection after this season.

Each team gets two slots for two-way players. Pj Dozier and RJ Hunter occupied those spots at the end of last season and are both restricted free agents. One of them will likely not return under the same deal with Strus signed.

Strus will get a chance to show what he could offer to the Celtics during Summer League, starting on July 5 in Las Vegas. Notable two-way Celtics in the past include Kadeem Allen and Jabari Bird, who both appeared in games for Boston while Bird secured an NBA contract. he was traded to Atlanta and then released at this year's trade deadline after a domestic violence allegation.
