You'd think America would be tired of all that winning in New England.
But apparently more than half the country wouldn't mind seeing another Boston team contend for another championship.
The Bruins' Eastern Conference Final series with the Carolina Hurricanes begins Thursday, and ahead of Game 1 in Boston, SportsInsider.com published a "rooting interest" map that breaks down which states are rooting for which team, determined by geotagged Twitter data from over 10,000 tweets that feature either the Hurricanes' hashtag, #takewarning, or the Bruins', #gobruins.
Here's the result:
The Bruins have the overall edge with 29 states compared to the Hurricanes' 21.
The B's unsurprisingly took all of New England, including Connecticut, which is where Carolina's franchise originated as the Hartford Whalers. They also have a pretty strong hold on the North and Midwest, with the exception of Illinois (thanks, Chicago Blackhawks fans), Nevada (maybe Vegas is sick of betting on the Bruins?) and Idaho ( ¯_(ツ)_/¯ ).
The underdog Hurricanes, meanwhile, are the darlings of the South, winning every state below the Mason-Dixon Line with the exception of Tennessee.

If Boston reaches the Stanley Cup Final, though, it apparently will meet a fanbase that's rooting for its victory over Carolina: Both Missouri (St. Louis Blues) and California (San Jose Sharks) are in the Bruins' camp.
Let's just be glad this map doesn't include Canada, considering the B's have made enemies in nearly every province north of the border.
